closed for business on Sunday night.
Newark-Liberty International Airport in northern New Jersey,
widely regarded as a New York City airport, was closed for about 45 minutes on
Sunday, according to NorthJersey.com.The reason?
A suspicious package was found.Despite the brevity of the incident, the whole thing lasted
approximately 45 minutes, and a local bomb squad was called to the baggage
claim area in Terminal C.
Terminal C is mostly a United Airlines arrival terminal.The terminal was cleared and reopened in less than an hour
by authorities, according to a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York
and New Jersey. reported that over 500 flights in and out of the airport were delayed on
