Steel Cutting Underway at Meyer Werft for the Disney Cruise Line’s Fourth Wish Class Ship

During the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, it was announced Disney Cruise Line will expand even more with four new ships coming between 2027 and 2031. Then in January 2025, the cruise line revealed the expansion will include the introduction of a new class of vessel and the addition of a fourth ship in the Wish class. The 2027 ship will be considered the 4th Wish Class vessel as it will launch ahead for the 2029 Wish Class ship destined for Oriental Land Company (OLC).

Ahead of the Disney Destiny’s float out, a steel cutting ceremony was held for the company’s unnamed fourth Wish Class ship, hull number s723, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany on August 8, 2025.

As part of Disney Cruise Line’s expansion, Meyer Werft will play a vital role in design and construction of the new ship builds including the yet to be revealed new ship class slated for delivery starting in 2029.
