Norwegian Cruise Line Ship Suffers Technical Problem

Lots of fanfare to start but an uncertain finish, as a
Norwegian Cruise Line ship is in danger of failing to complete its itinerary
because of a technical glitch.The Norwegian Sun remains docked in Cartagena, Columbia, and
probably will not make its transit through the Panama Canal, according to Cruise
Hive. That was scheduled to happen on Tuesday, April 25, but did not. 

Also, the remaining ports of call along the Pacific are in
doubt. The itinerary was originally for a 20-day cruise.The problem appears to be electrical, with the air
conditioning system offline. Norwegian’s technical team is on site. The ship
left Miami on April 21, but has been stuck in Cartagena since April 24. 
In a note given to every passenger, Captain Maksym Kyselov wrote,
“We are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences at sea, however,
at times, unexpected circumstances may arise. Earlier today, we experienced
electrical difficulties, which resulted in some amenities going offline. Since
then, services have begun to return. We apologize for any inconvenience this
may have caused.”Other concessions were made for passengers, including
extending the all-aboard time so they could explore the Colombian city more.
One passenger who contacted CruiseHive from the ship said
there has been little to no communication and frustration was growing. At one
point in the last two days, Norwegian closed all the dining halls except for
one, which only offered a buffet dinner.The original itinerary called for the Sun to finish its
cruise in Seattle and then be repositioned and have maintenance for the summer
