Last Updated 1 second agoThe American low-cost airline JetBlue has recently announced fresh itineraries from Tampa and North Carolina to Puerto Rico. The carrier is offering travelers new flights to San Juan and Aguadilla.
The introductory prices start at $99, and travelers can purchase tickets now for the new services that begin in summer on July 5.
The new routes connect the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, and Tampa International Airport (TPA) in Florida to the Rafael Hernández International Airport (BQN) in Aguadilla.
The carrier has highlighted that these new affordable travel opportunities have to do with the merger with the low-cost carrier Spirit.
JetBlue also recently launched new flights to the Dominican Republic in March and new non-stop routes to top European destinations such as Paris and Amsterdam.
What Is Included In The $99 Ticket?
JetBlue has clarified that the $99 fare is for just one-way ticket, and it will be available for a limited time—an exact date has not been disclosed.
Only certain dates have the special price; other one-way tickets cost over $200.
The special prices will only be available on www.jetblue.com; no third parties will offer a lower fare.

The new routes will operate on the company’s Airbus A320 aircraft, which offers travelers free high-speed Internet connection, entertainment, and snacks.
The $99 fare is available for Blue Basic, the carrier’s most basic coach fare, which allows travelers to select seats but does not include a carry-on bag (this is only free for transatlantic routes) and has late boarding.
Travelers must consider the cost of the extra services and know that only a personal item that can fit under the seat is included.
JetBlue’s Mint service—the carrier’s business class only available for certain routes— is not available for the new routes, but the airline’s coach seats are comfortable and famous for their ample legroom.
Is This A Seasonal Route?
The new services will begin this summer on July 5, but the carrier has confirmed that it will be a year-round service.
Travelers will be able to take advantage of the low-cost tickets to visit “La Isla del Encanto,” as this country is also known.
With these new services, JetBlue is now offering flights from Puerto Rico to 12 cities in the United States and the Caribbean.
Is This Really A Great Price Compared To What Other Airlines Are Offering?
JetBlue’s new affordable fares will add more competition to the market and create more affordable opportunities for those interested in visiting Puerto Rico.
The new routes offer exclusive opportunities for travelers, as not many airlines have similar non-stop itineraries. However, other low-cost carriers are offering great routes at very low prices too.
Frontier Airlines is offering similar routes for just $160 roundtrip. Travelers must research and see what this fare includes to compare and see which service suits them best.
Other popular airlines like Delta and United Airlines offer similar services starting at around $400 —roundtrip— including stops, according to a recent Google Flights search.
What To Do In San Juan And Aguadilla?
Puerto Rico is one of American travelers’ favorite destinations as it’s beautiful and close to the United States, and a passport is not required to travel there.
The great destinations offered in JetBlue’s new routes have a lot to offer visitors.
San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Capital, is a fascinating historic city, and tourists usually enjoy walking on the cobblestone streets in the colorful Old San Juan, visiting great museums like the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, eating delicious local food, and relaxing at the beach.
Travelers will find beautiful beaches in San Juan, like Condado Beach, Playa Ocean Park, and Carolina public beach.
Aguadilla is known for its stunning nature and spectacular beaches. This city offers great outdoor activities and water sports.
Adventure travelers will have great opportunities to connect with nature while hiking to Cueva del Viento, exploring Las Cascadas Water Park, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.
