As May the 4th—the unofficial holiday observed by Star Wars geeks everywhere—draws near, Disneyland devotees may feel the Force growing stronger. In fact, Southern California’s Disneyland Resort is preparing to import some new elements from a galaxy far, far away to celebrate the Star Wars franchise as yet another aspect of the company’s Disney100 (a.k.a. Disney 100 Years of Wonder) centennial commemoration.

Star Wars Month returns to Disneyland Resort this year from May 1 to June 4, 2023, bringing with it out-of-this-world adventures, cosmic character encounters, special-edition merch and stellar snacking opportunities.Guests who visit during this springtime celebration will discover a selection of limited-time offerings that are bound to prove practically irresistible for Star Wars fans.Tomorrowland
In Tomorrowland, Space Mountain temporarily transforms into Hyperspace Mountain, where guests will find themselves outmaneuvering the Empire and engaging their hyperdrive to escape at light speed from enemy fire. On your way towards Star Tours, stop in next door at The Star Trader a stellar retail shop stuffed with Star Wars-themed treasures and other park merchandise.Space Mountain transforms into Hyperspace Mountain for Star Wars Month at Disneyland. At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, on the frontier planet of Batuu, you’re likely to run into some familiar faces and creatures hanging out in the Outer Rim, whether they’re friendlies, like R2-D2, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, or the Mandalorian and Grogu; or foes, such as Kylo Ren or First Order Storm Troopers, who patrol the streets of Black Spire Outpost. As you might expect, guests looking to sample fresh fare options, celebratory snack items and liquid concoctions curated from galaxy-wide cuisines should also head over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, situated at the northern end of Disneyland Park.During Star Wars Month, off-worlders will find a selection of special dishes, desserts and drinks available at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Galactic Grill, Ronto Roasters, Oga’s Cantina, Kat Saka’s Kettle, the Milk Stand and beverage carts. For more details on special food and beverage options offered during Star Wars month, check out the Disney Parks blog’s Guide to Galactic Goodies.
Special offerings in the park during this period will also, of course, extend to a varied selection of limited-time merchandise, including park-exclusive apparel, collectibles and souvenir items. While strolling through Black Spire Outpost and the Resistance Forest, guests can stop in at the Creature Stall, Toydarian Toymaker, Black Spire Outfitters, First Order Cargo, Jewels of Bith or Resistance Supply.Or, if you’re looking to find some extra-special souvenirs, spend some time in Savi’s Workshop to customize your own lightsaber, Droid Depot to build a personal droid or Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, which is filled with all kinds of mysterious artifacts and treasures of dubious origin collected from across the galaxy.Characters Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, and baby Grogu as seen at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Starting May 4, guests who spring for the Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots feature on their mobile devices will be able to capture special stellar memories of their time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, as BB-8 or BD-72 makes a special appearance in their snaps. And, those who purchase the Disney Genie+ service will also find a new Disney PhotoPass Lens available on their devices in the form of a filter enabling them to customize their own personal Mandalorian helmet and armor.Outside the park, over in the Downtown Disney District, guests will find a photo op location inspired by the Disney Junior original series “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures”. They can also satisfy their Star Wars merchandise cravings at the District’s new, immersive shopping destination, the Star Wars Trading Post, and find additional themed items at such other retailers as Marceline’s Confectionery, Lovepop, Pandora Jewelry and California Sole.
