Carnival Cruise Line’s Brand Ambassador, John Heald, once again took on a hot topic this morning with a Facebook post about adult-only cruises. These sailings have been wildly popular with fans of the cruise line, and apparently cruisers want more.
A recent social media post from Heald responding to a fan has been racking up comments this morning. A parent of three kids already out of the house asked Carnival to “give a little attention to us cruisers without children.”
The cruiser said that they love family cruising but “would like for a change to cruise without having to endure other people’s children.”
Heald responded, while making sure everyone knows the cruise line isn’t trying to reinvent itself.
“We are and always will be a proud family cruise line,” he wrote. “However, I have seen how extraordinarily popular the adult only cruises that we have done so far have been.”
He went on to say how surprisingly popular these special itineraries were and the mix of passengers they attract.
“Lots of the people who have taken these adults only cruises still cruise with their children but enjoy a chance to not do so,” he said, adding that, for some, “cruises with your children isn’t a vacation… just a relocation.”

Carnival’s upcoming schedule includes adult-only sailings departing in 2026 from Port Canaveral, PortMiami, and Galveston on Carnival Dream and Carnival Glory.
Many of these are already sold out, which could be a sign that cruisers are seeking quieter decks as they enjoy a getaway at sea.
Cruise Fever has previously reported that Carnival’s first official SEA (“Sailings Exclusively for Adults”) voyage took place in August of 2025 on Carnival Conquest. The 10-night Southern Caribbean sailing was Carnival’s first entry into the adults-only cruise niche.
From January to March 2026, Carnival plans additional SEA sailings from PortMiami, Port Canaveral, and Galveston. Booking one is simple. Guests can visit Carnival.com, log into (or create) their free VIFP account, and check the “offers” section for available SEA cruises. These voyages come with perks like up to $25 in onboard credit, “Drinks On Us, and deposits starting at $99 per person.
It’s worth noting that these SEA cruises are designed specifically for casino guests, which is why they are limited to those 21 and older. On the Conquest sailing, Carnival even added 75 extra slot machines and four blackjack tables to meet the higher gaming demand.
Heald was quick to clarify that the introduction of adults-only sailings doesn’t signal a shift in Carnival’s overall family focus. “We are and always will be a proud family cruise line,” he said, adding, “I think we have perhaps stumbled across a secret.”
With adult-only sailings selling out quickly and Carnival fans asking for more, it sounds like Carnival might have found a popular strategy. And it’s one that lets parents trade the family vacation for a little peace, quiet, while still offering family-friendly vacations on 29 ships in the fleet.
